Lehmann Eye Center is monitoring news and reports of the COVID-19 outbreak, following CDC guidelines, state mandates, and working closely with the Texas Department of State Health Services to adapt to restrictions and recommendations regarding practice preparedness and response. We are currently:

• Seeing patients with urgent eye care needs
• Performing surgeries and seeing patients with distancing measures in place
• Requiring that all patients wear a mask. They will be provided one should they not have one.
• Requesting that patients come alone unless they need assistance
• Screening everyone that enters the building. Taking temperatures along with screening questions.
• Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning!

Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order (GA-34) lifting the mask mandate in Texas effective March 10, 2021. Starting March 10, it is no longer mandatory for Lehmann Eye Center patients to wear masks. The majority of Lehmann Eye Center staff have been vaccinated for COVID-19 or have antibodies. Patients and staff may continue to wear masks on a voluntary basis.
